THE THEATER PROJECT, a semi-professional
theater group including Equity and non-union professional actors, is in its
eighth season of producing new works and contemporary classics. An award-winning
affiliate member of the New Jersey Theater Alliance, The Theater Project is
known for its color-blind casting policy and provocative "actor’s view of
theater" seating. The company has produced works by Nicky Silver,
Christopher Durang, David Mamet, John Guare, A.R. Gurney, Jane Anderson and
premieres by Jersey writers, Bill Mesce, Jr., Rose Caruso and others.
The Theatre Project is made possible in part by a HEART Grant
(History-Education-Arts-Reaching Thousands) from the Union County Board of
Chosen Freeholders, by The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Department of
State, through a grant administered by the Union County Division of Cultural
Heritage Affairs, and by the generosity of Mr. Joseph Cecala. Donations to the Theater Project are accepted through the Union County
College Foundation. For more information, call the UCC Development Office at
